Caring for your candle is quite easy

  • Before first use- Remove the crystal from the top of the candle. Our wicks are pre-trimmed to 1/4"
  • Be sure to trim the wick to 1/4" above the wax before each use. This ensures even burning. We reccoment using a pair of wick trimmers.

The wax of my candle is poofy after burning it and letting it cool. Is this normal?

This is completely normal and is fondly referd to as "Cauliflowering". When we designed our candles, we opted to go with Natural Soy Wax free of additives. Additives are regualrly added to candles to help with scent payload and wax appearance. While cooling, air bubbles trapped in the wax can cause the wax to "cauliflower" and become puffy. Simply lighting the candle again will cause the wax to melt and return to it's "normal" appreance. We have seen this more prminently when the candle is cooled too quickly or the candle is covered while it is still hot.

My Wax Melt is discoloring- What should I do?

Soy wax, and wax in general, is sensative to sunlight or any source of UV light. UV Light causes the wax and fragrance oil to oxidize which causes the color of the wax to change. We reccomend storing your wax melts in a cool, dark location to avoid this.

The wax in my candle/wax melt is starting to crumble

Though some crumbling is normal, if your wax starts to get a chalky or powdery texture, this could be the result of degradation or oxidization. Soy wax is sensative to UV light. UV Light causes the wax and fragrance oil to oxidize which causes the texture of the wax to change. We reccomend storing your wax melts in a cool, dark location to avoid this.

Does freezing my candle help it preform better?

Freezing your candle is not advised. Contrary to popular belief, freezing your candle will not help with burning time or frangrace projection. It can actually be quite dangerous.

  • Freezing your candle can cause mosture in the wax to solidify. This means as the candle is burning, the flame can hit pockets of mosture causing these pockets to randomly burst. This can cause hot wax to be expelled, which in turn can cause bodily harm.
  • Freezing your candle can cause uneven burning or channeling
  • Freezing your candle can cause it to crack
  • Freezing your candle can degrade the quality of the wax and the fragrance
